- Continue using a solution well past its intended use window just because it looks unchanged — visual appearance doesn’t confirm potency
Signs a sample may have degraded
Cloudiness, visible particulates, or discoloration in a solution that was previously clear are all signs the sample should not be trusted for research use. When in doubt, the safer choice is to treat the sample as compromised rather than assume it’s still viable.
